Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 14 September 2026.
1. Who We Are
Connect Lawyer ("we," "us," "our") operates a website that helps consumers in the UK find, compare, and book independent, SRA-regulated solicitors and legal professionals ("Lawyers") for fixed-fee consultations. Connect Lawyer operates the website connectlawyer.co.uk and can be contacted at hello@connectlawyer.co.uk.
By using connectlawyer.co.uk (the "Platform") or booking a consultation through it, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.
2. What Connect Lawyer Is and Is Not
Connect Lawyer is a booking and payment platform. We help you find a Lawyer, see their availability, and pay for a fixed-time consultation.
Connect Lawyer does not provide legal advice and is not a law firm. We do not review, supervise, or take responsibility for the legal advice given during any consultation.
Every Lawyer listed on the Platform is independently regulated (for example, by the Solicitors Regulation Authority) and is solely responsible for the advice and service they provide to you.
No client relationship is formed between you and Connect Lawyer. Any client relationship exists solely between you and the Lawyer you book.
3. Booking a Consultation ("Book a Slot")
Connect Lawyer offers one booking option: Book a Slot, a fixed-fee consultation of a length and price set by the Lawyer and shown on the Lawyer's profile and on the booking page before payment, booked via a scheduling tool showing each Lawyer's real availability.
When booking, you must provide accurate information, including your name, a contactable telephone number, and a description of your situation so the Lawyer can prepare. Providing false or misleading information may result in your booking being cancelled without a refund.
Full payment is required at the time of booking, processed via Stripe. Prices shown are the total amount payable at the time of booking.
Cancellations, rescheduling, and refunds are governed by our separate Refund & Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
4. Payments
All payments are processed securely via Stripe. Connect Lawyer does not store your card details.
Of the total fee you pay, Connect Lawyer retains a 10% platform fee, and the remaining 90% is paid directly to the Lawyer you booked, via Stripe Connect.
If a refund is issued, any amount already paid to the Lawyer will be reversed as part of that refund process.
5. Your Responsibilities
You agree to:
Provide accurate contact and situation information when booking
Attend your scheduled consultation at the agreed time, or cancel or reschedule in line with our Refund & Cancellation Policy
Use the Platform only for lawful purposes
Not use the Platform to harass, threaten, or abuse any Lawyer or Connect Lawyer staff
Not attempt to bypass the Platform to book a Lawyer directly in order to avoid our fees, where that Lawyer was first found through Connect Lawyer.
6. Lawyers on the Platform
Connect Lawyer takes reasonable steps to verify that Lawyers listed on the Platform hold current, valid professional registration (such as an SRA registration number) before they are approved to join, through our lawyer application and verification process.
Connect Lawyer does not guarantee the outcome, quality, or suitability of any advice given. Concerns about a specific Lawyer's conduct or advice should be raised directly with them and, where appropriate, with their regulator (such as the SRA) or the Legal Ombudsman.
7. Availability and Changes to the Service
We aim to keep the Platform available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may suspend, restrict, or change the Platform, including pricing or the Lawyers available, at any time.
We may add, remove, or change booking options, pricing tiers, or practice areas shown on the Platform without prior notice, though we will honour any booking already confirmed and paid for under the terms in place at the time of booking.
8. Intellectual Property
All content on the Platform, including the Connect Lawyer name, logo, design, and text (excluding content provided by individual Lawyers about themselves), is owned by Connect Lawyer or its licensors and may not be copied or reused without permission.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Connect Lawyer is not liable for any loss arising from the legal advice or service provided by a Lawyer during a consultation booked through the Platform.
Connect Lawyer's total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the Platform itself (as opposed to a Lawyer's advice) is limited to the amount you paid for the relevant booking.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so.
10. Data Protection
Our use of your personal data is set out in our separate Privacy Policy. By using the Platform, you agree to that Privacy Policy.
11. Complaints
If you have a complaint about the Platform itself (not the legal advice given, which should be raised with the Lawyer or their regulator), contact us at hello@connectlawyer.co.uk. We aim to acknowledge complaints within 2 business days.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The version in effect at the time of your booking applies to that booking. Continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
